About me
Hello, I’m Clare. I’m an ideas and big vision kind of person. I like to challenge the status quo and literally ‘design my life’ just like my book title. I tend to see the future before others and take action accordingly.
I love sharing ideas. Some of this I do via writing books and speaking at topical events. Otherwise, I help people directly via mentoring in my group programme, 1:1 or consultation.
I run a successful eco-architecture practice, Clare Nash Architecture, which employs 6 people. It’s a remote and flexible working practice, with our lovely, majority female team all working from home and meeting up once a week in real life. All of this was well before Covid and unheard of in the UK architecture world.
I have a large allotment and a medium sized garden with many native plants and beautiful flowers for wildlife.
I have long used gardening as a way of tapping into creative thinking and unblocking. The repetitive nature of weeding calms down the brain and lets the subconscious help you solve problems.
I travelled alone to Papua New Guinea, China, Vietnam and South America as well as many parts of Europe and the UK to carry out research on sustainable housing design for my first book. I have lots of stories!
I worked and lived in Germany and Liechtenstein for almost two years. I speak German, learnt my eco-tech from the best and go back whenever I can.
I live in a beautiful village with my husband and son. I like wild swimming, books and running.
